PrEP Ring launch at UTH

The PrEP Ring was successfully launched at UTH. This innovative HIV prevention method, also known as the DapiRing or Dapivirine vaginal ring, marks an important step forward in expanding prevention options.The PrEP Ring is inserted inside the vagina, where it works continuously to help prevent HIV infection. Similar to PrEP tablets and injectable options, it provides effective protection, but with the convenience of lasting up to 28 days after a single insertion. Because of its form and method of use, it is also commonly referred to as a vaginal ring.
The introduction of the PrEP Ring offers individuals more choice and flexibility in protecting themselves against HIV, contributing to ongoing efforts in reducing new infections.
