Serving with Purpose: Board Secretary, Anita Manika.
Serving as Board Secretary at the Mwaka Nawila Foundation has been a deeply transformative experience. Since my appointment, I have already experienced both personal and professional growth.
This role has given me a broader perspective on leadership. Through participation in planning, review, and annual meetings, I have seen firsthand how the work of the Foundation continues to impact lives. It has also strengthened my writing and organisational skills.
One moment that remains significant was during a review meeting in December 2025, when I was asked what it means to be entrusted with this role at such a young age. The response was simple but powerful — age does not determine value. Representation and meaningful participation matter.
I am grateful to serve in a leadership space within an organisation that is truly impacting lives, and I look forward to continuing to grow and contribute.
